Arming educators, school voucher-like efforts and teacher raises are among the dozens of proposals Texas lawmakers are hotly debating this year. As the state reaches the midway point of its 88th legislative session, The Dallas Morning News Education Lab is hosting a live conversation with educators and advocates to unpack how decisions made in the Capitol could impact children, teachers and schools. The virtual chat will broadcast at 6 p.m. Wednesday on The News ' Facebook page. Panelists include Dallas schools Superintendent Stephanie Elizalde; Monty Exter, the Association of Texas Professional Educators' director of government relations; and HD Chambers, the Texas School Alliance's executive director and a former schools superintendent.
